Alasdair Gold’s twist in the Richarlison saga: a loan lifeline for Spurs’ outcast

Best betting sites >> Blog >> News>> Richarlison Tottenham Loan Possible Alasdair Gold Update

There’s another turn in the Richarlison soap opera, and it could be the one that finally gets him out the door. Tottenham insider Alasdair Gold has poured cold water on claims that Spurs are blocked from sending the Brazilian out on loan, insisting a deal is, in fact, doable. For a player who’s made it crystal clear he fancies a change of scenery, that’s a timely twist.

Loan wrangle explained

Some had suggested Tottenham were snookered by FIFA’s limit on loans to clubs in other associations. But Gold says that reading is off. Spurs can still loan Richarlison because three of their seven current outbound loans are players aged 21 and under, which are exempt from the six-player cap. In short: the pathway is clear if the destination agrees terms with Spurs.

Windows still open: Portugal and Brazil

Time is tight but not gone. The Portuguese and Brazilian windows are open until 11 September, keeping two escape routes alive. Brazilian outlet Ge.Globo claimed the 29-year-old has given the nod to Vasco da Gama on a loan, while also suggesting Spurs couldn’t loan anyone else abroad. Gold’s update contradicts that snag, meaning a temporary switch is back on the menu.

Everton and Trabzonspor had a look earlier in the window but neither could strike a deal with Spurs, leaving the forward parked in north London for now.

Spurs’ stance and the contract clock

From Tottenham’s perspective, a loan isn’t perfect. With less than a year left on his deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a temporary move risks him walking away for nothing next summer if an option isn’t triggered. That said, the club has already left him out of the 25-man Premier League squad for the first half of the season, so if no move lands this week, he’s staring at the sidelines until January.

De Zerbi’s view: only the committed stay

Manager Roberto De Zerbi has been up-front: Richarlison told him early in pre-season that he wanted out. The boss is adamant he only wants players who are all-in, and he’s handed the broader situation to the club to resolve. It’s a firm stance and, given the current impasse, a sensible one.

The numbers and the narrative

For the record, Richarlison’s Spurs tally stands at 134 appearances, 32 goals and 15 assists. Not a failure, not a frenzy—just a mixed bag. But here’s the kicker: Tottenham have gone goalless in their first three Premier League matches. Keep firing blanks and you can bet the debate over leaving a seasoned striker out of the squad will only grow louder.

So here we are: a couple of days, two open markets, and one player desperate to reboot his career. If a proposal lands that suits all parties, he’s off. If not, it’s cold storage until the new year—and a narrative that won’t be kind to anyone if the goals don’t start flowing.
